What a weekend it was! The 2025 Brighton Marathon Weekend brought not just sunshine and sea breeze but a wave of energy, determination, and generosity from our amazing FareShare Sussex & Surrey team. We’re absolutely thrilled to celebrate the eight incredible individuals who laced up their trainers, put on their game faces (or gold unitards!), and raised over £4,500 to fight hunger and food waste in our community.

Let’s give a huge round of applause to our fabulous fundraising heroes:

🌟 Louise  – Volunteer Extraordinaire

Louise brought serious style and spirit to the Brighton 10K, raising a whopping £1,050 to support our mission. Not only did she smash her fundraising goal, but she also brought her A-game in the fashion department, painting her nails FareShare green for the occasion. Now that’s dedication! Well done Lou, you’ve done us proud!

🌟 Alex & Emily – Marathon Mates with a Mission

This dynamic duo took on the Brighton Marathon together, raising an amazing £800 for FareShare Sussex & Surrey. It was Alex’s third consecutive year running the marathon for us—what a legend! Emily joined him again after running with him the year before last, and this time, they raced each other to the finish, each hitting a new personal best. Their friendly rivalry and passion for the cause made for an unforgettable day!

With some additional match funding pending from the Enjoolata Foundation and Caroline’s employer, the total raised is set to grow even further, meaning more meals, more families supported, and even more food saved from going to waste.

To Our Runners, Dancers, Donors, and Supporters: Thank You!
